⚠️ Monitoring Essentials Hydration & perfusion (PCV/TS, lactate); electrolytes (K⁺, Na⁺, Cl⁻, Mg²⁺) q4–8h; renal values; urine output (goal β‰₯1–2 mL/kg/hr); blood pressure; respiratory rate/effort. Risk of hypokalemia, hypochloremia, metabolic alkalosis, dehydration, ototoxicity (esp. with aminoglycosides), and azotemia. Avoid in dehydrated/hypotensive patients without volume restoration.
